Live
Farmacity unified its retail and pharmacy catalog in Akeneo to stop maintaining duplicate product records across channels and operate from a single source of truth live.
Context
The operation combined thousands of references across beauty, OTC, and mass consumption categories, with different teams loading attributes in spreadsheets and older systems. Every campaign or product launch created rework across e-commerce, marketplaces, and physical stores.
What we did
- Akeneo as the master product repository, with families, attributes, and completeness rules by category.
- Enrichment workflows for images, regulatory descriptions, and variants (size, scent, pack format).
- Connections to sales channels, with controlled publishing by environment.
- AWS infrastructure for test and production environments, backups, and basic sync monitoring.
Operational outcome
The catalog is managed from a single panel: attribute changes reach connected channels without manual re-entry. Scope is roughly 45,000 unified products across 5 synchronized channels — reference figures for the project, not audited for publication — and the business indicator that matters is that the catalog is live, not an archived pilot.
Why Akeneo + AWS
Akeneo fits high-volume retail with non-technical content teams. AWS provides the environment to run connections and monitoring without relying on generic hosting that is hard to scale.
